As India is still struggling in its fight against COVID-19, its second wave has hit the country hard. The cases of COVID-19 are increasing day by day in many states and Maharashtra is amongst the top state. COVID-19 has spared none, be it TV artists, Bollywood actors, or sports celebrities. Below is the list of Indian celebrities who have been diagnosed with the COVID-19 pandemic amid the second wave of the disease.
Since India is grappling with the second wave of Coronavirus, celebrities over the world are finding themselves at risk just like their fans. The country has recorded 1 lakh new Coronavirus cases on Sunday. And many of them include film stars and sports stars. Many of them announced on social media that they have tested positive for the disease.
Some Bollywood actors who are recently declared covid positive are Akshay Kumar, Govinda, Vicky Kaushal, and Bhumi Pednekar.
Bollywood celebrities who tested COVID-19 positive
Vicky Kaushal, the actor is a recent Bollywood star who has been infected by the virus. The actor took the help of Instagram on Monday to announce that he is covid positive.
He wrote, “In spite of all care and precautions, unfortunately, I have tested COVID-19 positive. Following all essential protocols, I am under home quarantine, taking medication as prescribed by my doctor”.
His illness news came out after actress Bhumi Pednekar put up a post on Instagram by declaring that she is covid positive, adding that she is feeling “mild symptoms” and is under home quarantine.
Kartik Aryan has also informed his followers that he has completely recovered from the disease.
On 22 March, Manish Malhotra posted a plus sign on Instagram with a caption, “Positive ho Gaya, Dua Karo”.
On Sunday, actor Akshay Kumar declared that he is positive for COVID-19. He took to Twitter to announce that he has been hospitalized and was isolating himself, and he also urged others who had been in contact with him in the recent past to get them tested.
A few hours later, actor Govinda’s wife told media that the actor had tested positive and was displaying mild symptoms and he had quarantined himself.
Aditya Narayan, the host of the music reality show Indian Idol, revealed on Instagram that he and his wife Shweta Agarwal had been infected with the virus.
Alia Bhatt, on 1st April, announced that she has tested positive for covid. She added, “I have tested positive for Covid-19 and will be under home quarantine. I am following all safety protocols under the advice of my doctors. Grateful for all your love and support. Please stay safe and take care”.
On 18th March, actor Aamir Khan also tested positive.
The next day, Aamir’s co-star in 3-Idiots, R. Madhavan, declared that he was covid positive.
On March 12th, actor Manoj Bajpayee had also tested positive for COVID-19 and he had to virtually release the trailer of his upcoming movie.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali
Before Manoj Bajpayee, on March 9th, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali also tested positive while shooting the film.
Bollywood celebrities who tested COVID-19 last year
Some other celebrities including Milind Soman, Rohit Saraf, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Arjun Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Kriti Sanon, Genelia Deshmukh, Harshvardhan Rane, Aftab Shivdasani, Himansh Kohli, Purab Kohli, Satish Kaushik, Boney Kapoor, Vikrant Massey, Rajkummar Rao, Kanika Kapoor Abhishek Bachchan, Karim Morani, Bhushan Kumar, Rahul Mahajan, Aishwarya Rai, and Ankita Lokhande have been infected with the COVID-19 disease over the last year.
